The Village House draws inspiration from the vernacular architecture of Kutch — low-slung forms, deep overhangs, and a material palette that rises from the earth itself. Local sandstone clads the external walls while clay roof tiles keep the interiors naturally cool through the Gujarat summer.

The planning revolves around a central courtyard — a traditional element reimagined as the heart of the home. All living spaces open onto this outdoor room through full-height glass doors, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside.

Every detail, from the hand-carved stone jaalis to the reclaimed timber beams, tells a story of craft. The Village House is not merely a residence — it is a continuation of a building culture that has shaped this region for centuries.
